Short biography:

Brooke Parrott can’t remember a time when she didn’t write songs. Hailing from Oregon, she grew up singing her first rhymes into a Playskool tape recorder with matching microphone. A nomad at heart, Parrott’s music has pulled her through Seattle, Boston, and Nashville, most recently landing her in London. This rootlessness has seeped into her music, fueling her soulful Americana with poignant storytelling and a disarming sense of loneliness in love. In 2008, Parrott distilled her years of writing into a debut album, ‘Another City’, self-released on Ten til Six Records, and is currently working on her sophomore effort due out this year. While in London she has shared the stage with the likes of country songwriting legend Kimmie Rhodes, John Parish, Lauren Pritchard, Kim Richey, London notables Alessi’s Ark and Treetop Flyers, and this summer with PJ-Harvey collaborator John Parish.
